Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers on our services, registration, and how we work

General

Who is Ubuntu Auditors Namibia?

We are a 100% Namibian-owned, PAAB-registered audit, tax, forensic, and advisory firm headquartered in Windhoek, with regional reach across Johannesburg, Dubai, and Geneva.

Are you registered and regulated?

Yes. We are registered with the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB) and are an accredited training office of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN).

Which standards do you work to?

ISA for audits, IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, and GRAP for reporting, and ISQM 1 for quality management, all under the IESBA Code of Ethics.

How do we start working with you?

Send an enquiry or schedule a consultation. We scope your needs, confirm independence, and provide a clear proposal before any engagement begins.

Audit & Assurance

What types of audit do you perform?

External and statutory audits, internal audits, financial statement reviews, and public-sector and SOE audit preparation, all aligned with ISA.

How do we prepare for a clean audit?

We help compile an audit-ready file, reconcile ledgers, and complete GRAP conversions, then agree a timetable that meets your reporting deadlines.

How long does an audit take?

Most statutory audits run 30 to 45 days from a complete trial balance, depending on size and the readiness of supporting records.

Tax & Compliance (NamRA)

Do you handle NamRA filings directly?

Yes. We register, prepare, and submit returns through the NamRA ITAS platform and engage NamRA on assessments, objections, and good-standing certificates.

Which taxes do you manage?

Corporate and provisional tax, VAT, PAYE and employee taxes, and withholding taxes, with annual reconciliations and tax good-standing maintenance.

Can you help with a tax dispute or penalty?

Yes. We review the assessment, prepare the objection or remission request, and engage NamRA to resolve it efficiently.

Forensic & Investigations

When should we call in a forensic team?

When you suspect fraud, procurement irregularities, asset misappropriation, or a governance breach, and you need independent, evidence-based answers.

Will the findings hold up legally?

Yes. We follow strict chain-of-custody and evidence protocols so reports withstand regulatory, disciplinary, and judicial scrutiny.

Is the process confidential?

Every engagement runs under strict confidentiality, independence, and conflict-of-interest checks, with scope and reporting lines agreed up front.

Governance & Company Secretarial

Can you act as our company secretary?

Yes. We maintain statutory registers, file annual returns and beneficial ownership disclosures with BIPA, and prepare resolutions and minutes.

Which governance codes apply in Namibia?

The NamCode (Corporate Governance Code for Namibia), alongside the principles of King IV and the Companies Act 28 of 2004.

Do you register new companies?

Yes. We handle company and close corporation registrations, name reservations, and ongoing BIPA filings end to end.
